About Us

Lightstand Web Services is an initiative by Hunt Media Resources. I’m Scott, the founder and owner of Hunt Media. I’ve worked in graphic design for a long time now and I’ve worked with a variety of clients from a wide range of industries. But my first love and priority has always been to assist and empower churches in the presentation of their ministry and the Gospel. I grew up a pastor’s kid (a KD) and later worked as a youth pastor. Out of the graphic design work I did with that ministry doors opened to take design on as a career.

Over the last few years I’ve watched the evolution of the internet and the way it’s changed our society. I’ve seen a lot of churches struggle to keep up and to know how to engage this change in our culture. A website has now become essential to any organization looking to be accessible and attractive to a community. Today a huge percentage of people visit a church’s website before ever setting foot on the property. I have the knowledge and opportunity to help my brothers and sisters in the Church use this amazing resource to communicate the Gospel and further the Kingdom and I’m eager to do so.

With that in mind I created Lightstand as a dedicated outlet for serving churches in this way.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
– Matthew 5:14-16

In his Sermon on the Mount Jesus exhorted the people to let the light they’ve been given shine and bring glory to the Father. In these days there is no higher hill or taller stand or more visible platform than the internet. It can be seen by people across the planet and next door on a child’s iPod.

But I likely don’t need to convince you of the significance of a website, that’s why you’re here. The question is often not why but what and how at this stage. I’ve worked with a lot of different churches on their websites and each time the situation is a little unique. There are a plethora of variables like budget, past experiences, volunteers to manage it and a variety of goals. Sometimes churches don’t want or simply can’t afford to build a completely new site. Sometimes they just need a few updates or enhancements but don’t know how to accomplish it. That’s where I think I can help.

For more detailed information about the types of things I can help with check out the About Our Services page. And let’s make a better, brighter impact on the vast realm of the internet and let The Light of the world shine before men.

Blessings,
